The Big Lottery Fund has awarded us a grant of £111,217 to fund the 'Living for Today' programme for the next five years, starting in August 2009. 'Living for Today' is a programme for people with an illness that is progressive and unlikely to be curable, and for carers who are looking after someone with this type of illness. |

On a very sunny, warm but windy Friday 18th June 2010 1450 ladies (and one very brave man, subtly disguised in a tutu) descended on Tesco Car Park in Workington for Workington’s 1st ever Midnight Walk. As it was the second time we had organised a Midnight Walk a few lessons had been learned and we had the confidence to say the day/night was going to be better than ever. And we weren't disappointed! It really was a fantastic night - thanks to everybody who was involved!

In 2007 Hospice at Home West Cumbria was delighted to win a prestigious national award. We were awarded one of the 2007 GlaxoSmithKline 2007 IMPACT Awards, made in association with the King’s Fund to recognise and promote excellence in community healthcare. We were on of 10 winners chosen out of 334 applicants after a rigorous selection procedure that included a half-day assessment visit from a King’s Fund assessor. |
