In 2007 Hospice at Home West Cumbria was delighted to win a prestigious national award.  We were awarded one of the 2007 GlaxoSmithKline 2007 IMPACT Awards, made in association with the King’s Fund to recognise and promote excellence in community healthcare.  We were on of 10 winners chosen out of 334 applicants after a rigorous selection procedure that included a half-day assessment visit from a King’s Fund assessor.
The judge’s comments on our work were ‘West Cumbria Hospice at Home provides a valuable service, both for the dying and for their loved ones. The Charity is doing excellent work while operating in a challenging geographic area. It is providing an outstanding service to the local community at a very emotional time. Well deserving of being a winning organisation’.  The award was presented to us in the very grand surroundings of the National Gallery in London.
