Hospice at Home West Cumbria has been extremely fortunate to have received a few very substantial legacies recently. These legacies have made a huge difference to our finances, and enable us to be able to plan for the future with some confidence.
The late Masie Green, who lived in Loweswater, has made us one of the charities to benefit from her Will, and we anticipate receiving around £175,000.
Marion Hughes, a St Bees lady, died in September 2006 leaving a legacy of almost £1million to be split between 3 local charities including Hospice at Home West Cumbria. Mrs Hughes wanted others to benefit from the wealth accrued during her and her late husband’s lifetime, rather than have a large part of it swallowed up in Inheritance Tax.
Everybody at Hospice at Home is delighted that Marion and Masie chose to remember us in their Wills. Legacies such as these are vital if we are to be able to continue to expand and develop our services to meet the needs of the people in West Cumbria, and the income will ensure that we are able to continue to operate for many years to come – a lot of local people will benefit from the generosity shown by these two ladies. We are very grateful to Masie Marion, and everybody else who has given us a legacy, for thinking of us in this way. |
