It is the policy of Hospice at Home West Cumbria to ensure as much as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of its members of staff at work. To this end, all our employees and volunteers are provided with adequate training to enable them to carry out their duties in a competent manner.  All our nurses undertake an induction programme, which includes issues regarding safe nursing practices in the home.  In the event of an accident, or an incident that could have led to an accident, please contact Linda Hewitt on 01900 705200 as soon as possible.  All staff employed by Hospice at Home West Cumbria will make every effort to ensure the safety and safeguarding of patients property and possessions whilst undertaking their work.  For staff giving home nursing care this will include securing a patient’s home at the end of the shift.

The Hospice offices are in a secure environment and every effort is made to keep written and electronic records secure.

All services are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy with an employers liability of £10m and a public liability of £5m.
