Living for Today‘Living for Today’ is a programme delivered over six weeks designed to help patients and their carers cope after receiving a diagnosis of a non-curable, life limiting illness.  It aims to facilitate people’s wellbeing, and to help them to get the most out of life. The programme provides information and support in small groups of no more than 8 people, in an informal and friendly setting.

 

This programme is funded by the Big Lottery Fund's Reaching Communities programme.

The programme is run by the nursing staff from Hospice at Home West Cumbria with input from other professionals.  There are separate programmes for patients and carers, and they run one session per week for 6 weeks with each session lasting approximately 2½ hours.
