Other Palliative Care Services in West Cumbria

Hospice at Home West Cumbria works in close collaboration with the NHS and Adult Social care. We also work closely with other voluntary organisations in the West Cumbria area.

Macmillan Nurses
Macmillan Nurses are employed by the NHS.

There are six Macmillan Nurses working in West Cumbria, who are all Clinical Nurse Specialists in Palliative Care. They offer support and advice to seriously/terminally ill patients, their families and professionals involved in their care. They also help and support newly diagnosed cancer patients. They co-ordinate the care provided by the Hospice nurses and often refer patients to the Hospice. Hospice at Home West Cumbria works in very close partnership with the local Macmillan Nurses.
